5 Fall Friendly Foods for your Dog!

It’s Fall y’all!
There are so many great things about this time of year, including the variety of foods that come into season. How does that translate to your pup? There are plenty of fall foods that are not only nutritious, but also delicious for you to add to your furry friends’ food. Let’s dig in!

  1. Pumpkin.
Whether it comes in a puree or is freshly cooked, pumpkin is a wonder food for dogs. Full of fiber and Vitamin A, this addition is a great source of nutrition for your dog. It is also great for older dogs and dogs with rather sensitive stomachs. Make sure there are no added sugars and/or spices if you choose to use canned pumpkin.
  2. Apples.
Apples slices are a a quick and easy sweet treat for your pup. This snack is full of Vitamin C and A that is great for your dog’s skin. Dogs can have apple pieces with or without the skin and will be sure to feel extra special. Make sure to avoid giving them pieces with seeds as they contain cyanide.
  3. Carrots.
Another great snack full of fiber and also Vitamin A. This snack is great for dogs on a calorie restricted diet. After chewing over a few carrots, you’ll find that your dog’s dental health will fall right into place. Make sure to wash carrots well, especially baby carrots.
  4. Green beans.
Next we have green beans. We may not be able to share our green bean casserole with our pets but we can give them the best parts of it! Green beans are rich in fiber, however still low in calories. Whether they are canned or cooked fresh, this nutritious addition is sure to keep your pup happy.
  5. Oats.
Lastly we have oats! Oats are a wonderful addition to your dog’s food. As long as your dog isn’t sensitive to grains, this tasty supplement mixes very well into their dinner. Oats are full of fiber and antioxidants, as well as minerals. Be sure to choose oats without added sugars or spices.
